Do you want to host an event?

​Act Sustainable (formally known as Studentdagen Hållbarhet) has been hosted by Gothenburg centre for sustainable development, GMV, since 2005. The day has evolved to a whole week and the week is open for all students and staff at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Gothenburg. The official program will be released in September 2019.

Act Sustainable 2019 in short:

For who? Primarily all students at the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology. However, all staff is, of course, welcome to take part in the program too!

When? 4 -9 November 2019
Where? All over Gothenburg

General guidelines for events during Act Sustainable 2019:

  • Attendance should be free of charge

  • Open to all students and staff and University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology

  • Preferred language is English to keep the program open for all students. However, if this is not manageable you can host your event in Swedish or bilingual.

  • All events should address one or more Sustainable Development Goals

For university partners, student unions and student organizations

During 2019 the day time program (approx. 8.30 – 16.00) of Act Sustainable will be dedicated to different university partners. Each day will be geographically focused on one or two campuses around the city. If you are interested to take part in “your” day – contact Karin Bylund ( for more details and to get in contact with each organizing team. During Act Sustainable 2019 there is also the opportunity to host staff-exclusive educational sessions about sustainable development.

Monday 4/11: Organized by Gothenburg center for sustainable development and partners

Tuesday 5/11: Faculty of Science at University of Gothenburg and Sahlgrenska Academy

Wednesday 6/11: Faculty of Social Science & Faculty of Business, economics and law at theUniversity of Gothenburg

Thursday 7/11: IT-faculty and Faculty of Education at the University of Gothenburg

Friday 8/11: Chalmers Sustainability Day

Saturday 9/11: Grande Finale! Faculty of Arts (Humanistiska fakulteten) and Faculty of  Fine, Applied and performing arts (Konstnärliga fakulteten)

For external partners

During afternoons and evenings, external partners have the opportunity to be part of the official program. The same general guidelines apply to these events too. Since Act Sustainable 2019 takes place at the same time as Framtidsveckan ( external partners can be featured in both programs for more exposure.
